ReCEnTlY.......

there was not much going on here for a couple months due to my new job which keeps me pretty busy but which is at the same time so fun!
It brings me to

• different places in the world,
• meet new people,
• learn and understand different cultures
• appreciate friends & family at home and around the world
• surf
• think about...... everything

and also I can spent a lot of time in the mountains snowboarding or hiking!

I spent a lot of time traveling and away from whats sounds pretty nice but ............

Im so happy how my Board turned out. This grey thingy fly´s. I Surfed it now a couple sessions here at the local Oceanside Pier and in Grandview, Leucadia and it goes so fast.

I presurreized it up to 6 psi and it feels so good with that pressure in good surf, also it makes sections so easy to fly through.

The only thing I want to do is to play with the fins a little bit. Im going to make some more traditional Keel fins but with a little shorter base and push them a little bit more foreward. But otherwise I love the feeling of it and how it catches waves so easy for 5 feet of foam. I think the stringerless Hydroflex and the supercharger pressure Technology thing works really well. I feels so alive and is so light and strong.

Fine tuned the board yesterday and added a single concave to the last 1/4 of the board. Also marked the position for the fins. Im pretty happy how the board came out.

Lets do some glassing!

Things I will improve the next time:
-use a good squeege to avoid black stripes
-not using a windsurf blank
-shape in summer time
-not forget tail patch if i will do glass on fins
-10 or 8 oz Volan glass if I will do another longboard

But summary it was fun to build this Glider.

Set the fin today. Tomorrow I will finish the CAT GLIDER!

GloSSinG&SanDINg

Did the hot coat and the glossing the last couple days and also laminated the Paulownia fin and sanded the board today. Tomorrow or so i will wet sand it and put the fin on.
I like it!

BoTTOmUP

Have glassed the bottom with 6 oz hexcel today and did a free lap. The deck i will do tomorrow.

Spent the last days with shaping and party. Results are headache and a sweet looking pintail glider in 9´,4´´x 23´´x 3´´. It has very low entry rocker, a slight kicktail and 50/50 rails. Tried to make the best out of the windsurf Clark Foam blank. Tomorrow I start the glass job and will be working on my fin.

This is my actuall "shaping room", but it works quite well. Hard situations need uncommon solutions.
This is my first attempt in shaping a surfboard "Alaia". I have repaired until now some boards very well but lets see how i understand the shaping of a board from its first scratch.
I do an Alaia because i got this palownia planks for very cheap, it should be around 6 feet 10 inch in lenght and get a light belly bottom and deck.
